In today’s society, it is imperative to constantly remind ourselves that we are not all made from the same mold. We are all unique individuals, born with a specific genetic code that is ours alone. Our bodies are composed of unique bone and muscle structures and we all have totally different brain structures and ways of thinking.

All too often individuals find themselves frustrated and cornered due to a certain diet or exercise routine not providing them the same results as their friend or family member. Just as each shell on a beach is unique in its own special way; so are we! It’s easy to forget this at times and slip back into the unhealthy thought patterns of believing that if something works for someone else, we should see similar results too.

Being more aware of your own unique qualities can assist you to reach a higher level of wellbeing and optimal health. This often goes hand in hand with enhanced happiness, sleep quality, and many other important aspects that help shape how we feel.

Rather than always looking to others, if you really need to compare yourself to someone, compare yourself to yourself. Perhaps a version of yourself from last week, last year, or even 5 minutes ago. Building up the habit of realizing that your body is unique in its own way will greatly benefit you in the long run. You will come to learn great and intriguing things about yourself, with new discoveries being made regularly. I urge you to give it a try!
